Major sites to be seen
Jersey, the flower island
1hr and 15 minutes away from Saint Malo by catamaran, Jersey and its 77 km of coastline offer many wonderful walks.
You will find a mixture of British coolness and continental chic, rural pubs hidden in the English countryside and signposts in French…
A theme, either botanical or historical may be selected to discover the island, in addition to essential free time for shopping in the streets of Saint Hélier, its capital.
Cap Fréhel – Fort Lalatte
300 hectares of rocks and peat bogs covered with heather, gorse bushes and broom lead majestically to the sea. It is a breathtaking spectacle that you will discover as you approach the Cap Fréhel.
A few minutes walk away, stand the pink sandstone ramparts of Fort Lalatte, the ex-property of the noble de Matignon family which you can visit.
Dinan, Medieval city
The medieval city of Dinan will welcome you in the heart of its narrow streets flanked with wooden clad houses dating back to the 16th century. You will get there either by driving along the banks of the Rance or by going up river on a picturesque motor boat of varnished wood.
Lunch at the Mère Pourcel inn, in the heart of the City, may also be included in the programme.
Mont Saint Michel
1 hour’s drive away from the Corsair City, you will be amazed by the magic of what is sometimes called the 8th Wonder of the World: the splendour of the bay out of which this granite rock arises and where the tides come and go at the speed of a galloping horse, a maze of corridors, steps and crypts in the Abbey, the picturesque quality of the medieval village’s narrow streets… A meal, at the Relais St Michel, facing the Mount or in the restaurants of the Mère Poulard, may be an enjoyable addition to the visit.
