Our commitments
NOn course for ever more sustainable events!

In april 2024, the management of Le Grand Large decided to embark on the adventure of Iso 20121 certification. The internationally recognized standard was created to mitigate the impact of events, and attest to the responsible and sustainable management of event structures in terms of environmental, social and economic commitments.
This initiative by the Palais des Congrès de Saint-Malo, in keeping with the company's values, was particularly well received by its employees. It has to be said that at Saint-Malo, while we are proud of our exceptional environment, we are also aware of its fragility.
Everyone has enthusiastically immersed themselves in the certification process, questioning our practices, measuring the environmental, societal/social and economic impact of the events we host, and working to reduce it.
To bring this project to fruition, we created the position of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Project Manager. The role of this committed employee?
Take stock of the actions already undertaken by Le Grand Large, reaffirm the company's values in order to define the priorities of our sustainable development policy, get our teams, partners, service providers and local players on board, and encourage the emergence of possible avenues for improvement.
In february 2025 , Le Grand Large was awarded ISO 20121 certification in recognition of this in-depth work and the eco-responsible policy already in place.
While obtaining ISO 20121 certification is an essential starting point, it also provides the impetus for a process of continuous improvement in responsible practices, with an annual audit.
The key: renewal of certification every 3 years.

At Le Grand Large, we are committed to...
Waste management
Bio-waste generated by the activities of our catering service providers is collected by bicycle by local company La Petite Boucle.
To combat food waste, uneaten foodstuffs are collected by the Banque Alimentaire.
To limit the use of plastic bottles, water fountains are available to our customers in various areas of the building. Customers are invited to bring their own water bottles or reusable glasses.
Stage management furniture is recycled, an action spontaneously implemented by the stage managers.

Controlling pollution
Saint-Malo's geographical location, 2 hours 17 minutes from Paris by TGV, helps to reduce the carbon footprint of events that use public transport for their participants. The Grand Large's location, a 15-minute walk from the SNCF train station and right in the heart of the city, makes getting there on foot practical, easy and pleasant. More and more event organizers are choosing this option.

Buying local and in season
At the Grand Large bar and tables, orange juice has been replaced by local apple juice.
The selection of our suppliers and service providers takes into account their CSR policies, particularly in terms ofresponsible purchasing.
Accessibility
Le Grand Large is managed by SPL Destination Saint-Malo Baie du Mont Saint-Michel, as is the Saint-Malo Tourist Office. The latter has Tourism & Handicap for visual, auditory, motor and mental handicaps, was awarded the Trophée d'Or du Tourisme Accessible. In addition to furniture, equipment and tools adapted to the needs of these publics, trained advisors and the position of Accessibility Referent, a guide and a mobile application list all accessible outings, tours and events in the area, according to disability.

Cohesion
Committing to more ethical practices that respect the environment and contribute to social issues has a positive impact on the company's image; by involving employees, suppliers and partners in the thought processes, this commitment is also a tool for cohesion that benefits everyone. And for the region too.
